If you want to renew or get your brand new Florida Tag Registration we can help! We provide our customers with “same day” Florida Tag Registration service. Drop off your paperwork in the morning and pick up your new tag in the afternoon.

If this is the first time registering your vehicle, you will need to provide proof of insurance. You will then be given a temporary license plate which will serve as a permit for you to circulate in traffic for 30 days while your new title and Florida tag arrives. If for some reason the first 30 days lapse, you can renew your temporary license plates for another 30 days. Once your new license plates arrives along with your title you are all set.

For individual registrations the expiration will take effect at midnight on the date of your birth date. For example, if your birthday is April 24, the expiration time will be April 24 at 24 hrs. One second before April 25. You need to carry the registration in your vehicle at all times according to Florida Statues, Section 320.0605.

Remember, to register your vehicle in Florida, you will need to provide proof of insurance from the State of Florida. If you are just renewing your registration you will also need the current registration certificate or a renewal notice from the State.

Call us today at (954) 582-5800 if you have any questions or drop by our office to have your Florida Tag Registration done in no time.

So you’ve got your first car.. or you are about to, and you want to comply with the law but don’t want to spend too much money, right? While shopping for a policy that matches your needs there are a few things you should consider.

To start with the right foot and the right policy coverage, you should compare at least three quotes to make sure you are not missing out on anything. Nowadays, it is easy for you to go online, sort of what you are doing now, and compare at different websites for car insurance for first timers. In Florida though, I would suggest you actually visit an agent and let them work for you on this.

Specially, when it is your very first insurance policy and your very first car, you will need to learn a few things that you will learn nowhere else but with your agent. As a first time driver having the right insurance coverage for you is crucial.

This is the time when you start building up a relationship for life. Yes, for life! So it is most important that you are happy with your purchase and all of your questions are answered, rarely you will get this type of service online.

An actual agent will not only answer your questions, but he or she will review a few quotes that are best for you and your personal needs. Your agent will discuss them with you and you will make the final decision.

At Atlantica Insurance Agency we can work with you to find you an affordable yet effective policy within the many companies we work with that specialize in car insurance for first timers.

We are young as you are and we understand your needs perfectly. Give us a call or visit us at our office. We are located in Margate, Florida.

Being involved in a car accident is no fun at all and it could be even worse if you don’t know what to do at the moment after the car accident strikes. But, what to do in case of a car accident? Here are a few things you need to know and act upon:

  1. Remain at the scene. Please don’t “hit and run”. If you were at fault or not, remaining at the scene of the accident could benefit you by saving you some unnecessary tickets.
  2. Call the police immediately. The police will take care of all the paperwork such as the police report, which you will need while opening a claim to your insurance company.
  3. Collect and exchange information with the other party(ies). What information should you ask for?
  • Name of driver(s), address, phone number.
  • Any witnesses? Get their info as well. Name, addresses and phone numbers.
  • Vehicle(s) information such as license plate number, year, make and model.
  • Name of insurance companies and policy numbers of the other drivers involved in the accident.

4. Once you have your police report ready, contact the claims department for your insurance company.

A few more tips:

Do not discuss the accident with anyone else but the police and your own insurance company.

No one needs to know right away your insurance coverage, so it is not necessary for you to reveal your policy limits.

If you are not sure how the accident occurred (believe me, this happens a lot) do not admit fault, everything will become clear once all the pieces come together.

Well, there you have them, if you didn’t know what to do in case of a car accident follow these simple steps. Be safe!

How Necessary Really is to Own Car Insurance in Florida?

Having auto insurance in Florida is not only necessary but also a legal duty. If you own or drive a car in the State of Florida, you will have the legal necessity to obtain at least the minimum coverage required by the State. Owning a car insurance could save you from a lot of trouble.

For instance, having the minimum liability coverage required will take care of damages caused by you to third parties if you are at fault. Check with your agent for more information on the minimum requirements or call us.

To own car insurance in Florida is to know you and your family are covered. If you own a car and are not yet insured, what you should do first is to shop around and compare rates from different companies. Compare rates and coverage options. Also, it doesn’t hurt to find out more information about the companies. Pay attention to their service, do they sound like they know what they are talking about?

Be serious! This is one of the most important decisions you will make in your life. Most people stay with the same insurance company for years, which is one of the most effective ways of saving in auto insurance.

If you don’t want to do research yourself, contact your insurance agent. Here, in Atlantica Insurance Agency, we are willing to go the extra mile to find you the best insurance possible. Keep in mind that having car insurance in Florida or any other State should be necessary and not only an obligation.

When is The Right Time to Change Auto Insurance Providers?

Ideally, you should start comparing insurance policies before your current policy expires. Once you have allowed a lapse in coverage, there may be additional difficulty getting new coverage at a fair price. Remember, insurers look at many factors to figure premium, and these include: age, gender, occupation, credit history and current insurance. A gap in coverage will raise questions that will need to be answered. Did you simply forget to pay a bill, or is there something more serious? Do you frequently allow insurance coverage to expire, and what is the length of the gaps? Longer gaps may indicate that you drive without insurance, which makes you a higher risk person.

If you can plan a change, there are some good times to change auto insurance providers which should net you a reduced premium. For instance, your rates will go down at age 25, so if your insurance is set to expire the month of, or after your birthday, start shopping with your new age in mind. If you know that you are about to move or change jobs, consider changing your insurance provider before hand. It might be harder to get insurance if your move was over a long distance; you will now be an un-established person in a new town, which equals higher rates. Your new occupation can change your rates as well, especially if you begin work in a high risk category, or if you will use your vehicle more than you did before.

But, if your driving record is spotless, you are 25 or older, there have been no major changes, and your rates have either stayed the same or gotten higher, than you might consider now the time to shop for a discount. Some companies will match a policy and its price if you tell them upfront that you are doing this. Smart research and some basic knowledge will assure that you are getting the best insurance coverage for the best price.

If you live in Florida and are looking to lower your insurance premium and get a better coverage call us at 954-582-5800. We will gladly help you with your questions.

If you have ever had a car break down, a tire blow, or an accident, you know that they never happen in a convenient place, with phones and lights and people all around. No, these things never happen in the best of locations, or at the best of times, and if you asked that person stuck in the middle of no where in the black of night, the answer to the question is a resounding yes.

Emergencies are called that because they were unplanned and because making things better is imperative. There is no waiting around if it is midnight, and the temperature is four below and your car is sitting on a flat. Of course, your cell phone went dead just after you made the call to get the emergency tow service in the first place. Could things get worse?

Well, yes, things could get a lot worse, and fast. If you skimped on the deductible, or on the policy itself, hoping to save yourself a few bucks, then your emergency tow is going to get pricey, very pricey.

A reliable tow company can cost quite a bit, especially if a repair on the road cannot be completed and the vehicle must be towed to another location. The farther away from civilization the mishap occurred, the higher the expense will be.

Your policy premiums go up with each additional amenity or benefit that is added to it. Deductions are made for safe driving, safety features on your car, and multi-car discounts, but you can use those savings to bump up your coverage until you feel adequately covered. Drive through a lot of deserted areas to and from your destinations? Drive a lot of miles? Take a lot of solo trips? For all of these reasons, the higher premiums for emergency towing is well worth it.

If you are a parent of a teen that is away at college, it is worth the peace of mind. How would you feel if little Joannie was coming home for a visit and got stuck along the road for hours, cold, alone and afraid?

Consider the cost of adding the tow service to your insurance policy as compared to an auto club membership. Sometimes the cost is comparable making it just as easy to add to your existing insurance policy, and sometimes the cost is far higher.

Comparison shopping is key to getting the best deal.

As always, check the limits to the towing policy. Is there a mileage limit, for instance? How many service calls per month are you allowed before they are no longer covered? Which services are covered and which are not? Some policies will cover locksmith services, and others will not. If you have special tires, or a higher end vehicle, find out if your policy covers flat bed service if you need a tow. Some tow drivers will not even attempt to hook up certain cars and trucks, and certain tires will not allow towing. It is best to know exactly what service you have and what to expect, especially before heading out for that trip through the miles of cornfields and cow pastures.

Here at Atlantica Insurance we will help you compare the best rates to add emergency towing insurance to your policy. Give us a call. We will work with you!
